Search tips
This website offers two ways to search the catalog of flats, forms, and extras:
- An all-puzzle search available at the top of every page
- Search tools specifically for each type of puzzle exclusively, available from the home page only
As you type, the search tool will match puzzle type name(s); if you are looking for a complex puzzle type (e.g., partially reversed phonetic charade), each element of the name will come up in the search.
Some puzzle types are variants of more common puzzle types. These are generally listed as subsections of the main type, so you may sometimes find that your search drops you in the middle of the article – where that puzzle type is discussed – rather than at the top of the page.
For flats, if you’re not sure of the name of the flat, you may want to check either:
- Dart’s Flat summary, which lists the most common flats by family (e.g., all the deletion types together) or
- 530nm330Hz’s microguide, a single page which lists the most common flats by representing the relationship between base words symbolically
